Product Information

Holle German Goat is ideal for babies from birth right up until 2 years old. It’s a good choice for any baby, but could be ideal if your baby struggles to digest other formulas.

That’s because the main protein in goat’s milk – A2 beta casein – is the same as in breastmilk (most cow’s milk contains a different protein – A1).

Plus, like any other Holle formula, it’s clean and wholesome. And it includes plant-based DHA (from algae, not fish oil) – making this one of the few vegetarian formulas.

Many parents worry about the environmental impact of formula. But Holle formula production actually has a positive impact on the environment – through greenhouse gas reduction and offsetting.

Holle German Goat will work well as your baby’s only milk, or to complement breastmilk.

Holle German Stage 1 Goat Milk Formula (400 gr. / 14 oz.)

Organic Full Cream Goat's Milk Powder1 (38,6%), Organic Maltodextrin, Organic Lactose, Organic Vegetable Oils (Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Rapeseed Oil, L-Choline, Calcium Hydroxide, C. Cohnil Microalgae Oil2, L-Cystine, Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Chloride, Vitamin C, L-Tryptophan, L-Tyrosin, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Chloride, Iron Lactate, Inositol, Vitamin E, Zinc sulfate, L-Carnitine, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Copper sulfate, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B2, Manganese sulfate, Potassium Iodide, Vitamin K, Sodium Selenite, Vitamin D3, Biotin, Vitamin B12.

1 100 g infant formula powder are made from 284 ml full cream milk
2 contains DHA (as required by the legislation for all follow-on formula)

Goat‘s milk naturally contains the A2 protein.

Here’s how we recommend you do it (it’s very similar to any other formula):

  1. Sterilize: Use a sterilizer, sterilizing tablets or boiling water.
  2. Prep the water: Boil water and cool to room temperature. This can take around 40 minutes – use a thermometer if you want to be sure. Pour half the water you need into the bottle.
  3. Add the powder: Use a measuring scoop (you should get one in the box) to measure the right amount of formula powder. Tip it into the bottle.
  4. Shake and serve: Shake the bottle, add the rest of the water, and shake again. Now, all you need is a hungry baby…

Keep your baby’s little tummy happy and healthy by following these simple rules:

  • Check the expiration date before you use (we only sell formula with at least [x] months left)
  • Once you’ve opened the seal on your formula, use it within 3 weeks.
  • Prep each bottle fresh, and throw out made-up formula milk after an hour – even if your baby hasn’t drunk much.
  • Don’t use your microwave to heat bottles – this can cause dangerous hot spots (even if you shake)
  • Keep formula containers somewhere cool, dark and dry.

Founded in Switzerland in 1934, Holle were, in their own words, ‘sustainable from the beginning’.

They were the first baby food and formula manufacturer to meet the Demeter standard for biodynamic agriculture – following natural, climate-friendly farming cycles.

The milk they use comes from farms where cows and goats live as naturally as possible – kept in small herds with plenty of space, fed only on natural grass and organic grains.

And though they’re a much-loved international name now, they’re true to their Swiss roots – family owned, and headquartered in the Swiss town of Riehen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Holle German Goat is good for babies from birth to 2 years old. It’s particularly good for babies with sensitive tummies, because the proteins in goat’s milk are easier to digest (and more similar to breastmilk) than cow’s milk protein.

It’s also ideal for babies from vegetarian homes – as it contains DHA from algae, rather than fish oil.

Holle Goat comes in 5 different stages.

For newborns, choose Stage Pre (0-3 months) or Stage 1 (0-6 months). Stage Pre is a little easier for sensitive tummies to digest, because it’s made without maltodextrin. Stage 1 is a bit more filling for hungry babies.

Stage 2 is for 6-10 months, Stage 3 for 10-12 months and Stage 4 is for 12 months+.

There are some differences – though they’re all nutritionally complete and organic.

Holle Goat formulas, along with Holle A2 formulas, are a great choice for babies with particularly sensitive tummies. Both have a different form of protein (A2 protein) that’s also found in breastmilk.

They’re very similar. Holle German Goat comes in more stages (5 stages from Pre to Stage 4). Holle Dutch Goat comes in 3 stages (1, 2 and 3).

Which means if you have a newborn, you might find Holle German Stage Pre the best choice, as it’s designed to be gentler for the smallest babies.

And if you have an older baby over 12 months, you might find Holle German Stage 4 the best choice, as it’s designed to meet growing toddler appetites.

Holle Dutch Goat comes in larger cans (800g rather than 400g) which can be handy if you have a hungry baby.

Both are vegetarian, using essential fatty acids from algae rather than fish oil.

Completely. Holle is one of the world’s longest-established formula manufacturers. And since they were founded in 1934, they’ve met exceptionally high biodynamic farming standards.

Holle formula is made using natural, organic milk from small, well-cared for herds. And they use gentle processing methods to keep nutrient levels high.

Yes! Many parents find their babies get on better with goat’s milk formulas, because the proteins in them are gentler and easier to digest than cow’s milk formulas. Plus, like any other Holle formula, Holle Goat is made using natural farming methods and gentle processing, with strict quality control at every step.

Organic goat’s and cow’s milk formulas both provide wholesome, complete nutrition. But there is a difference in the proteins. Most cow’s milk contains a protein called A1 beta casein. Goat’s milk (along with human breastmilk and most other animal milks) contains a protein called A2 beta casein.

A2 protein is easier for many babies to digest – making goat’s milk formulas the ideal alternative for babies who struggle with cow’s milk formula.

It can be – but not always. It depends which components of cow’s milk your baby is allergic to, so we recommend you talk to your doctor.

Yes! It’s one of the few formulas that is. Most formula uses fish-oil derived DHA, but Holle Goat German uses algae-derived DHA instead.

Yes. Holle Goat contains DHA derived from algae – an essential fatty acid that is vital to brain development (but missing from some conventional formulas).

Yes. Holle Goat German includes the ideal balance of nutrition – proteins, healthy fats and natural carbs – along with essential vitamins including A, C, D, K E and B-complex.

It’s a great choice. It contains the A2 milk protein, also found in breastmilk, making it easier to digest for many babies than cow’s milk formulas.

We ship worldwide within 2-5 business days, however delivery can occasionally take up to 10 days (due to customs procedures). If you’d prefer not to have to think about delivery times, start a subscription – we’ll send your formula automatically so you never run out.

For most customers, yes. Subscriptions give you free shipping on every order, plus a 5% discount (and you can save as much as 30% if you combine with our bundles).

And since formula is something you need regularly, a subscription means you never have to remember to put in an order. If your baby’s appetite changes (or they get too big for formula), you can change or cancel in minutes in your dashboard.
